Drop Off: 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Pick Up: 7:10-7:15 p.m. All clubbers report to the Fellowship
Hall at the end of the night for Closing Ceremony.
Dear Parents,
We are pleased to have your child involved in our Awana ministries here at First Baptist Church of Milton! What a privilege it is to work together with you in the spiritual, mental, social, and physical training of your child. Awana provides a local church sponsored program for children, regardless of religious affiliation. At Awana Clubs, they can enjoy exciting games and activities, meet new friends, and learn about God and His Word, the Bible.
We’d like to share some of our plans with you in this booklet, as well as, let you know how you can be of help to us. You will want to keep this guide, so you can refer to it for future events.
If you do not have a church home, we would like to invite you to visit our church. Sunday School is at 9:30a.m. Our worship service is at 10:45 a.m. Fellowship and meal and discipleship training are both on Wednesday. Fellowship meal begins at 5:15 p.m.; Discipleship training begins at 6:00 p.m.

Discipline
All children are a gift from the Lord and we believe that they should be treated so. Your child will be under constant supervision of volunteers who are members of our church and who are Christians. We will love them as one of our own children. Our goal is to share the love of Jesus Christ with them by presenting his good news of salvation and by teaching them about God’s word in a positive and encouraging environment. Our discipline plan is to reward good behavior through awards and incentives. Misbehavior will be an opportunity to teach appropriate behavior as well as to let children experience consequences for misbehavior.
The 3 Count: Consequences for misbehavior
Upon notice of misbehavior, students will be warned by their leader that they are on "1." They will then be redirected and retaught the acceptable behavior for that area.
If the misbehavior continues, the child will be warned by their leader that they are on "2." The consequence will be immediate removal from their large group into a "time out" area. Students will receive counseling and will be encouraged to make better choices as well as being reminded of the consequences for misbehavior.
After the third act of disobedience, or extreme misbehavior the child will be on "3" and the clubber's parents will be called.
In large group settings, such as Game Time, Awana uses a five-count method to bring order and quiet. It is for the whole group. The Director or person in charge will slowly count 1-2-3-4-5 at which time there should be absolute silence.

Tips on How Parents Can Help
- Make sure your child brings their Bible are prepared with the night’s theme.
- Contact your child’s Leader with questions or concerns. If after talking to the Leader, the issue is not resolved, contact the Club Commander.
- Help your child prepare for club each week by spending time at home with them reading and reviewing their memory verse. If they do not have a Bible, please contact the club director.
- Gently remind them to spend 5 each day on their verse.
- All parents are welcome to attend any club, any night, as a visitor with their child.
Why We Memorize Scripture
Why do we memorize scripture at all? With all that competes for your kids’ time and attention, why should you expect them to memorize Scripture?
Why prioritize this when they have soccer practice and math homework and have to read three chapters in their history books? What is the value?
- Matthew 4:4 – It is food for the soul.
- Matthew 22:37 – It helps us to know and love God.
- Psalm 119:11 – It protects our hearts and minds from sin.
- John 15:7 – It helps us pray with confidence.
- Hebrews 13:5 – It is filled with God’s promises to the believer.
- 1 Peter 3:15 – It helps us witness to unbelievers.
- Hebrews 10:24 – It helps us to love and encourage others.
